Story Behind the Art:
Nyoman Rena tells us, 'I began learning to carve wood when I was in the third year of elementary school. My grandfather, an architect of traditional Balinese buildings, was also a senior carver, and was very supportive of me. Then my father introduced me to a leading silversmith in my village. Now I use my experience as a carver and as a silversmith when I design my pieces.'
